Motorbike queries

Hi, first time selling. I have placed a motorbike for auction on the site. How do I agree on a bid and contact the bidder? Also it states cash only (don't know why) does this mean the buyer will bring cash when he/she collects it, or that Ebay will be paid and I will get it a few days later?

Many thanks in advance.

Classified Ads. at total fee of £19. 99 will allow the exchange of contact details for viewing and price negotiation over a 30 day period --- set the Start price at or near the price that you would find acceptable --- Avoid inviting Offers which may never be completed --- just continue to Negotiate an acceptable selling price and only remove the Ad. when you have a definite buyer with Cash in hand or a  Bank Transfer is safely deposited/confirmed before handing over Vehicle keys/documents on buyer viewing /collection. No additional FVF selling fee is charged.    Do not accept PayPal payment.

Re: Motorbike queries

If you're happy with the current highest bid price you can end early via the dropdown menu arrow on the right of the item on your selling list.   Click on that and there's an option to sell to the highest bidder at their bid price.

If you want to contact them first click on where it says number of bids on the actual listing and you'll see the list of bidders.   Click on the highest bidder's ID and there's a contact link on next page.

You may well get more if you leave the auction running until it ends.

It is usual to only accept cash on collection for vehicles.   Although there is no buyer protection on ebay for them you could still risk a chargeback or payment failure at a later date with an online payment.   So stick to cash only and buyer will bring it with them when they come to collect.

Re: Motorbike queries

Thank you for the reply. It is a private auction sale, I have paid a listing fee, but don't know much else, therefore the post.

Re: Motorbike queries

Thank you for your very useful reply. One question if I may:
Ebay have indicated that I will receive my payment after a couple of days from them, minus their charge (I have already paid the listing fee).
So, should the buyer bring cash and if so how does Ebay get paid?
Thankyou

Re: Motorbike queries

eBay will have asked for your bank details when you registered your selling account and they will take the fees from there.    You can check on here:
