Late dispatch

just had bought an item of my eBay and it’s say I need to post by the 07/08 however I’m away until the 16/08. Is this still okay or will eBay cancel the order due to not posting within the recommended dispatch time? I have also contacted the buyer to let them know and waiting on a response

You will get a dispatch defect on your account.  Your buyer may agree to you cancelling and relisting when you can post it, for the buyer to buy again.

eBay won't cancel it, they'll just give you the defect.   Discuss with buyer and if they agree go to your orders page, click on the dropdown menu arrow alongside the item and select Cancel order > Buyer asked to cancel.    A refund will be issued in the process.

Okay thanks again! I’ve reached out to the buyer and they said they don’t want to cancel and rather just wait. Is the defect a big deal if I get it just once?

One defect shouldn't have a big impact.   You can read about it here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/selling-policies/seller-standards-policy?id=4347

Cancelling and rebuying would be your best option.   The buyer would get the item at about the same time so wouldn't affect them.
