Item posted independently but simple delivery thinks I have not!

Hi, I posted a sold item via Royal Mail tracked service, I have a tracking number and can see it was delivered and signed for on 6th august. However eBay automatically selected simple delivery and generated a label and tracking number which I did not use. I was able to update the tracking number that was automatically generated with the real one the post office gave me. However there is no option for me to select delivered in regards of the item. The buyer received it, but eBay will not release my money till it recognises it has been delivered… which it has! I also asked the buyer if they can flag anywhere they have received it or leave feedback to trigger the system to understand it has been delivered. Is there anything else I can do?

Ebay usually holds funds for about 21 days. Without tracking they should be released after this time.  Sometimes they are released early if buyer leaves feedback. 

You or your buyer, depending who paid, should get your postage label refunded if ebay can see it hasn't been used.
