Item not received, no refund and Ebay closed the case in their favour.

I bought an item 186678261207 ahead of halloween and while delivery was within a large window (3-5 days) it did't arrive in time. By the time it did arrive we were not at home. The tracking showed it as being delivered to a safe place (front), with no picture or any details. We live on a bust main road, have no porch or place to have put it so I can only assume it was abandoned at our door. Returning home from a week away, not unsuprisingly it wasnt there. To receive a refund I was required to send it back...not sure how.

The case has now been closed in favour of the seller and I can't even leave feedback as they listing has been removed due to a policy violation. I'm aware ebay is not what it once was, but is it viable that I can be sold something, it arrive late, be dumped at my door when I'm not home and I suffer that consquensces? Granted its not an expensive item, but it doesn't give me any confidence in ebay.

The Courier left the package on a Street doorstep, so you need to contact the Courier as it was not left in a Safe place (tracking No. details should be seen on your purchase page or email from Courier), & put a claim in to the Courier.

The Courier should of tried to redelivery, & failing to leave it with a neighbour or safe place, it should have been returned to the Seller.  Then you would have been able to open an eBay case for 'did not receive' that may go in your favour.

Contact your Payment Provider & open a case with them (you have a longer time limits to claim).

Sounds like you opened an eBay return, not an item not received claim.

That case would close in the sellers favour if the item wasn't returned to them.

You could try your card provider if you paid with a debit or credit card.
