Why can't Ebay's website default to your actual location. It always goes to "Default" which isn't really anything.
Unless I request it, I normally don't want to see items from the US as I'm in UK, for example.
And even more, offers also come up from other continents.
How difficult can it be to sort this out?

Why do you not search forUK only, the option is there,  ebay already provides all that is required, it is up to you to select it.

As far as offers go you can amend your Communication Preferences to stop all offers, but to stop offers from overseas only then do no not look at items outside the UK.

Thanks for the reply.
I know you can search for items in your country by selecting it. The point I'm making is that it how is should default, it's not a difficult concept. Other sites manage that very easily.
And I don't want to look at items outside UK - but even if I search for items in UK only, ebay suggests similar items but they're not always in the UK. So you click on them unknowingly, and then you get the offers.

We all have different preferences. You can't expect eBay's default to match your own. What about users who wish to see items from other countries?

As has been said, it's possible to select UK items only - but this has to be specified each time, which is a pain, and will include items from sellers in China (for example) who have a distribution base in the UK.  Which not everyone wants.

If you're saying that eBay should enable users to set up contining personal preferences, including the location of both items and sellers, I agree with you 100%. But as eBay's policy on suggestions from users is that it doesn't accept suggestions from users we are as always stuck with what eBay decides.
