Is the Ebay Money Back Guarentee worthless?

I purchased an item which Ebay agreed was described incorrectly, although the photograph was accurate.  I asked for a refund, but the seller has a no refund policy, then Ebay closed the dispute. So I've paid over £40 for something I didn't want. The Ebay guarantee doesn't seem to cover mis-sold items that can't be returned. I feel as if I've been scammed. Has nayone lese had problems with the alleged guarantee?

Did you open a return case, if so what reason did you use.?

Have you ever bothered to click on SEE DETAILS beside no returns?

Do you really think seller can send any old rubbish and not accept returns?

The money back guarantee is actually excellent and protects buyers 99.9% of the time.

However you have to use it properly and choose the right reason.  Particularly important are the very strict timescales.  Without more detail we can't help you identify what went wrong in your case.

No refund policies are for change of mind returns and are not covered by the money back guarantee.  Private sellers are allowed to reject these return requests.
