Invalid Postal address

hi there

I have sold many times on here and in the past have had issues with invalid addresses. This means I have to write the address myself and take it to the post office and pay the postage.

this has just occurred but I have realised that I no longer receive the postage cost. I am paid solely for the item worth when it sells. This means if I post this item without printing the prepaid label I am out of pocket again for nearly £4. This is the first time the family to address has happened to me since the new eBay postage rules.

can anyone advise how I progress with this?

I was going to attach a picture but apparently the picture is invalid too!

Many thanks

There is a protocol for this - see below.

As the buyer has paid Ebay directly for postage, the money will eventually be refunded to the buyer.

Changing the order's postage address

To be protected as a seller under eBay Money Back Guarantee, you should only post orders to the address specified by the buyer at checkout. If a buyer contacts you and asks you to post their item to a different address, you can still do so, but you won't be protected if the buyer opens an eBay Money Back Guarantee claim.

The best option is to cancel the transaction; the buyer can then repurchase the item and check out with the correct postage address.

Invalid Postal address

Thanks for your reply. Just to clarify, the address is not a different address to the checkout address. The issue is that eBay is saying it is invalid and won’t let me print the label. I don’t understand why it is invalid, but the address is the same address.

any further ideas? Thank you

Invalid Postal address

Is there an error in the post code, for example 0 number being used instead of O letter or vice versa.

Many people do not understand that post code is usually letter letter number number space number letter letter.

Have you entered the post code given on google to see whether it matches address?

Thanks all I have realised I can edit the address myself. The buyer had gone over the maximum amount of letters per address line. Thanks all
