A potential buyer from Mexico has expressed an interest in a high value item I am selling. I am signed up to global shipping. They messaged me to ask whether I could offer a warranty and reduce the price because of the high international shipping costs. They seem genuine but I see they have only just joined eBay and have no feedback. I am concerned that this may be a scam, but then they may also be a genuines buyer. Should I sell to them and if so, how do I protect myself from potential fraud?

The issue with selling overseas is that, if the buyer opens a claim saying the item is not as described, you are responsible for paying for tracked postage to get the item back.
That can be expensive and difficult - if you can't find a way of buying a label, you may find that you have to send payment for postage to the buyer before they return the item, and hope they are honest.
As your buyer has no feedback, I would say no to this one.
