Inability to get proof of age without having a credit card

I don’t have a credit card and therefore as a 60 year old man I am unable to purchase many items on eBay. I have funds in my bank account/debit card but without a credit card (which I don’t want or need) I just wonder if anyone else feels the same?

Yes,  others have come here with the same problem,  but eBay's rules are, for age verification, a credit card has to be on their eBay account.

Because eBay doesn’t want to use other methods of age verification that would need Human Resources. EBay utilises an automated process to determine if items need age validation!

Not able to buy a 100year old bone letter opener but ok to buy tin snips ( a type of scissors for cutting metal) not able to buy a plug in plunge saw but able to buy bladed glass cleaner!! 
your classification system is severely flawed!

The age verification needs to have alternatives or your limiting purchasing for individuals who are eligible to purchase!

Why couldn’t a passport or driving license be used as age verification??
