I've been on ebay for 20 years; leading up to Xmas a buyer reported that a package hadn't reached him; ebay said it wasn't my fault and they refunded him (£50) and said the matter was now closed.
Then I find my account is restricted (coincidence?) and they want ID verification. I do not have a drivers licence or a passport; I speak to someone on the phone explaining this and am told to upload my birth certificate and a letter from HMRC, which I do (together with my bus pass, a Govt. letter saying I'm on Carer's Allowance and a letter from the council confirming I'm on the Electoral Roll) . I get a message back asking me to upload a driving licence or passport. I reply explaining the situation and get the same reply. I again speak to someone on the phone , they tell me to do the same thing as I did previously., etc etc. This has now been going on since Jan 1 and is simply getting nowhwere. I have £50 i want to withdraw to my bank account. Any suggestions as to how to proceed? (I'll be contacting my MP's office tomorrow.)

I strongly recommend contacting CS 8 a.m. on a weekday when the lines open for ' live agents' as then, there's more chance of Dublin answering.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
It's not easy to get through to CS, you just have to have perseverance! Instead of a quick option, 'Contact Us' which put you direct to a CS agent, you have to scroll past ' How Can We Help you today, to the very bottom and click on the Contact Us below Need More Help?
That takes you to an annoying AI bot but if you persevere keep asking questions it cannot answer and Insist on an agent, they do finally put you through and say .... waiting time ** minutes!

thanks, that's what I have been doing to talk to someone...there just doesn't seem to be a connection between them (and what they tell me to upload) and the dept that then says 'upload a driving licence or passport'.

Unfortunately Ebay rely on AI a fair bit, but its a bit thick so wont necessarily understand, do as @tressygirl says speak to a human and hopefully you will get more joy.
There have been other threads on this and if I find one with a suitable solution then I will link it in here for you.

Thanks, but as I said I DO speak to them on the phone; they tell me to upload certain items, which I do, only to get a message back a few days later saying I need to upload driving licence or passport - it's as if no-one there talks to anyone else. I'm just repeating the same proceedure over and over with no progress...
