I

Hi team,

I am in the uk. I ordered an item from Italy in July 2025 for over £400, but the parts never arrived. The seller is refusing to issue a refund despite my many attempts to ask for one.

Please help - I don’t understand what the issue is. I can’t get eBay to settle this one, as I dont know how to do this. What is the process here.

hope that you can help. Many thanks

Re: I

Hi  - the person who was supposed to send the parts to me can’t simply take my money without supplying the items that I paid for- can they ? Isn’t this fraud ?This is what I don’t understand and this is why I need help on this one.Every request / question about a refund is met with utter nonsense from the supplier. Thanks Alan.

Re: I

If you used your credit card I think you can try a Section 75 claim even with overseas sellers.

Re: I

Hi - I used my debit card, because when I tried to use a credit card it wouldn’t accept it as the bank blocked the card because they thought because it was over £400, it was deemed fraudulent activity and they wouldn’t let me use my credit card, hence why I used my debit card.Didn’t think that it would happen to me - but it looks like I been scammed and I’ll have to accept that I won’t get my money back although I have tried. I have tried to contact eBay uk to resolve this - but I don’t Know who to contact and I can’t seem to get any help, and I’ve really given up on this. I think I’ve explored all my options. It’s a shame really because I’ve been a member since 2008 and this is the first time that this has happened. I don’t even know who to open a report on a trader. Is there a help desk or a SPOC where I can actually talk to someone to has scammed me out of £400. Thank you for your help. The ever hopeful, Alan.

Re: I

eBay have removed our direct link for customer services and it's a bit tortuous trying to get through but have a go in the morning.

Click on the help link at the top of any page.   Select any topic then scroll down to Contact Us and get to automated assistant.   Ask to speak to an agent and repeat until it passes you to a real person.    Best of luck.

Re: I

There really isn't any point in contacting ebay.  They would only have assisted you in the 30 day period following the expected delivery date of the parts.

They don't extend that time limit.

You should have claimed item not received during that window and you would have received a full refund.

Re: I

Hi all - Thankyou for all that have replied

yes - I got this issue resolved fully in the end.

The supplier didn’t offer a refund - as the note below implied - but they did offer to send the same parts again free of charge. I am ok with this and as far as I’m concerned the issue is closed.

Thanks again and all’s well that ends well as they say.

Cheers and have a great 2026, Alan.

That's great news - fingers crossd that your seller will honour his promise.

If so, you've been very lucky. In future, do PLEASE remember that the time limit to claim under eBay's money back guarantee is 30 days. From day 31 they have no interest, whatever happens.

The time limit is clearly stated, but every day we hear from buyers who have lost their money because they didn't read it.
