Just trying to sell an old secondhand laptop but eBay is adding 20% to the price and postage. Price is shown correctly (£75) if I use eBay.com or eBay.com.au. But it shows as £90 on eBay.co.uk. I'm a non-vat registered private seller.
Here's the item: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/146508126423
One thing I'll mention is that I used to live in Australia and have returned to the UK. But eBay won't let me change country on my account, so perhaps that is causing issues?

Firstly nice lap top! Love the colour.
There was a similar post about this earlier , but you have in part answered your own question. As the account was registered is Australia, whilst you reside here now ebay base things on where the account was registered. Hence why the vat is added and will happen to on future sales.
you and eBay cannot change this bit of your account and the only way round it is to open a new account here with a new email address (you are allowed more than one account)

That will be the issue, ebay is adding VAT because your account is 'tainted' by something non UK.

Cheers buddy. I didn't really want to admit to myself that I would have to create a new account and start from scratch, but that certainly fixed the issue. Now I'll just have to see if anyone still wants to buy my laptop when I've got zero seller feedback!

Sometimes on a new account you could always buy some packaging items or something small in terms of value, to quickly get a couple of feedback numbers on your account. Just a thought, it may help.
