I cannot get variations to show on single listing

I have followed the advice to toggle on and off on auction price then put in a buy it now price but I cannot get the variations option to show even if I put in I have multiple items- can anyone help?

Variations are not really intended for PRIVATE sellers, who are not expected to be selling NEW items, in various sizes and colours.
