I didn't notice I wasn't signed in when I bought a small item a couple of weeks ago. If I try to add this purchase to my account orders all it does is ask me to create an account. How can I attach this to my account. There's a small problem with the order but I can't write to the seller with the item reference. Any suggstions as to how to do this would be very welcome. Thanks.

If you didn't sign into your eBay account when purchasing the item, you made a Guest Purchase, and you cannot ' add it to your eBay account.
If there is an issue with it now, requiring a refund this will explain the process.

You bought as a guest, and it cannot be changed. You will have an email from ebay confirming the purchase and all actions must now be taken through links in the email.
It will not appear in your purchases and no feedback can be left.
The seller will not know who you are if you try contacting using this ID. as sear-92 did not buy.

Thanks for the link. I followed the ebay process, there was no menion of guest account, and I arrived at 'register with ebay' pretty fast. This is where I got to before writing to the forum. I tried filling this in with my existing account details and after it asked me to choose a new password it seemed to be OK. In fact I'd created a new account entirely with no access to my past orders. There's clearly someting wrong with my account, so I'll see if I can discuss with an agent and sort it out. Not optimistic mind.

Yes thanks. I've concluded that too. The ebay email links don't take me anywhere useful I'm afraid. I'll try to contact an agent.

The link I provided is the correct one to make a claim for item not as described if you made a Guest Purchase.
