Human contact

I am in a highly delicate state, and my blood pressure is rising to dangerous levels! Is there any way I can contact a human agent about my advert?

Re: Human contact

Why don’t you ask on here, faster answers in most cases.

You do not seem to have anything listed, so if you are trying to list, have you properly registered to sell, with a Bank Account loaded and verified by ebay.

Without this you cannot be paid so difficult to list and sell.

Genuinely, you would be better explaining your issue and asking your question here in the forum.

You will get quick and accurate answers from experienced members.

Trying to speak to somebody at Ebay may worsen your BP.

Re: Human contact

Thanks for your reply and your help.

I don't have anything listed? Then search for Motorhome towcar with A-frame.

See if EN60 EEV comes up. It does on my computer and on my phone.

No more from me this evening. I'll look for further info / help tomorrow .

Re: Human contact

It can take 24 hours for new listings to show up.   Don't revise it that will hold it up.    If you still have problems tomorrow you can contact ebay by viewing this link on your phone:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5190

It has to be on  your phone,  the options to ring them don't come up on a PC or laptop.

Re: Human contact

I hadn't realised members could call ebay again.  Is it a free number?

Re: Human contact

Interesting advice - thank you.

The issue is that I have an advert on eBay for a Smart ForTwo with A-frame and fittings, ready for towing. I wanted to reduce the price, but I couldn't bring the ad up in 'editable' form. Asking the chatbot for help was time-consuming and constantly repetitive - "could you explain, in a few words ...." "please select from one of the following options ...." "I'm sorry, I didn't get that ...." On and on and on and on, round and round and round and round! Not one word of relevant assistance. Of course I wanted to speak (or send a message) to a sympathetic human!

Am I doing that now?

Re: Human contact

if it's a classified advert you can't make any changes.

Re: Human contact

Your listing is still not live - as advised, although Ebay say 'your listing is live' it won't show on site for up to 24 hours - so I can't see it.  (Is it a car?)

However, if you listed the item using a classified advertisement, you will not be able to edit it.  It is important to get it right the first time.  If you cancel the ad and do it again, you will be charged again.  Also, every time you amend a listing, it can be put to the back of the queue for listing and further delay it being visible to potential buyers.

If you use help and contact, you have to ask specific questions.

I asked 'selling can I edit a classified ad' and this was the response with a link to the relevant Ebay page.

Summary

Generated with eBay.ai

You cannot directly edit a classified ad listing once it is posted because classified ads work differently from other eBay listing formats.

With eBay Classified Ads, you state a price and buyers contact you to finalize the transaction outside of eBay. The listing duration is set to 30 days automatically, and you cannot change the listing format or duration after posting.

If you want to create or change a classified ad, you need to create a new listing by selecting Sell at the top of any eBay page, entering your item details, and choosing Classified Ad as the format.

Remember, classified ads do not have the protections of eBay Money Back Guarantee, and you cannot cancel the order if a buyer doesn't pay.

For more details, see selling with classified ads.

Re: Human contact

Thank you for spending time and trying to help. I'm very old (well, fairly, -81) and there are lots of things I don't understand. I search on eBay for something like my item and it comes up. It says people are looking at it and some have added it to their watch list. Trying to reduce the price has been an horrendous experience! Maybe it can't be done .... Auto Trader suggest you do it!

Only one thing to say after 'thank you', really - never again!

Re: Human contact

Your listing is live and has been since 4th May BUT you have listed on another account as can be seen in the pic below (sktw_40)

Sign out of this account and sign in with the other account and you will be able to see it, you may want to close one of the accounts once this listing has ended.

Re: Human contact

Thanks for the assurance that the ad is live. That's good to know.

I'm afraid I don't understand about the two accounts.     If it's live or 'active', I wonder why I can't get to it in 'My eBay'. And is it true that there's no way I can 'nudge' interested parties into making an offer by indicating a lower price?

All suggestions gratefully received.

Re: Human contact

You have somehow opened two accounts,  probably by signing in with google or Facebook.

You listed on your other account.  You need to manage the listing through that other account.

You can't lower the price, you already have offers enabled.
