How does the buyer “file a claim” for items damaged in transit?

An item arrived damaged in transit. There’s a big banner across the messages saying that because it’s a Simple Delivery I should “file a claim” from the purchase details. How do I “file a claim” for items damaged in transit? This option does not exist. I could start a return, but the seller tells me not to return the item but to start a Simple Delivery claim.

There is no specific Simple Delivery case.  You have to start a return using "damaged" as the reason.    With SD ebay refund your money and the seller keeps the payment.    They will not require you to return the item.

Thank you. I did what you suggest, and then right at the end it says there’s no need to return the item. Would have been nice to see that at the start, but I’ll know if it happens again. Many thanks again

At least they confirmed it there and then.   Good to hear it worked!   🙂
