Having to pay extra for postage

On several items I have sold since the simple postage system was introduced I have been having to pay more than the buyers postage rate.

I have had one buyer having to pay £1.50 to the post office even though I have used the ebay postage.

Is anyone else having these type of issues.

Thank you.

£1.50p is the fine that Royal Mail impose if there is not enough postage on a letter or large letter.

I would hazard a guess that the items concerned were DVDs that you sent with a stamp or label for 87p which is the cost of a Second Class letter.

If your items, once packed (in a padded envelope?) are more than 5mm thick, then they need to be sent as Large Letters and 87p is not enough.  Some birthday cards, if they have a little bit of embossing, don't fit through the 5mm slot.

If it is the DVDs, they are not sent using Simple Delivery and this is not a SD issue.

Having to pay extra for postage

Check the postage selection on your listings.    There are two price brackets for the small parcel rate:  up to 1kg and up to 2kg.
