Ebay really have no clue ! the recent changes are geting worse ! So `free to sell on ebay` is nothing more than a joke , the `buyer protection fee` does what exactly ? other than push the price up , sellers get offers made less the fee so are invariably declined so as not to lose money , now they want all postage going through them so any packaging costs have to be added to the listing , it now means a lower priced item is pointless listing . a simple item i would usually list around £4.99 , now has a buyer protection fee (ok it says `may` have a buyer protection fee added but ive not listed anything that doesnt !) then add a small contribution towards packaging and include the listing fee and you are closer to £10 than the £5 you originally were selling it for .
Ebay clutching at straws to recoup any money they have lost offering so called `free` selling and preventing sellers deciding the postage themselves will only lead to lost sales for sellers and reduced income for ebay . ive an idea , how about leaving us alone to do what we as sellers do best , before you lose us altogether as sellers ?

Upgrade to business seller.
No more SD, you choose postage.

Only business sellers don't have the 4% +75p Buyer Protection fee added to their listing prices, or have to use eBay's new Simple Delivery method.
If you're just selling off you own personal bits and pieces then both new features will likely impact your sales.
