Hello,
I am asked by eBay UK for a "VAT exemption certificate" provided by HMRC.
My buisiness is under the VAT threshold, and I do not need a to be VAT registred, and I am not applying for it volontarily as there is no point for me.
Then, I am a business seller, but with no obligation of VAT or to provide VAT number to eBay. Like many other sellers.
My question are :
- Is someone else been asked that very same document, when you dont have / need a VAT number, to prove to eBay you are not subject to VAT obligation ?
- For what i researched, HMRC do not provide such "certificate" or letter for pople on that situation; how did you solved the problem to eBay and proved to them you were not under VAT obligation ?
Hope I have been clear enough explaining, all insights are welcolme.
Just repharisng : Is that document actually exists for that situation, if not, how sellers that have been asked one solved their problem with eBay UK.
Thanks for your help.

Have a look at the main selling discussion boards, it is happening a lot.

Despite being on eBay since 2008, I am new on that communauty page, would you have a link to lead me there, if you have a specific discussion in mind ?

Yes, we have seen this before.
eBay are asking for something that HMRC do not provide.
Perhaps marco@ebay or dave@ebay can help here.
