Gsp - USA

Hi had a US buyer contact me yday to say that whilst trying to buy an item off me he had been notified - he showed me the notification- the seller didn't post to US. Contacted eBay and asked why that notification as I regularly do post to US with their shipping programme.

She said it related to Tariffs and there was an update currently happening and she hoped then tech guys wouldn't take too long. Does anyone have more info on how long its likely to be. Cheers Jane

Re: Gsp - USA

This is affecting many,  you are not alone.

This is the latest announcement from eBay re the issue with posting to the States because of these tariffs.

Hopefully the link there  to ' this page'   will keep you updated with any changes:

Starting 3 April 2025, new US Customs policy will impact shipments from the UK to US buyers. US customers will now be responsible for additional duties on most orders over $800, and they may need to provide further tax information for customs clearance. This could result in shipment delays due to US Customs processing. To address these changes, we are actively updating Estimated Delivery Dates to offer better arrival estimates.

Staying Informed

This page will keep you updated, particularly regarding the impact on UK sellers.

We’re closely monitoring how these new US import requirements affect buying and selling on our marketplace. We only succeed when you succeed, and we’re here to navigate these changes together.

Re: Gsp - USA

Unless your item is over $800 surely you could arrange to sell to your potential buyer.  Could you not add him to your exemption list so he could buy.

Any tax implications are the buyers problem, and seems rather silly to block all sales most of which I am sure would be under $800!
