Global Shipping problems

Amazing how people do not bother to read the rules or listings properly.

On mine I clearly state that all issues with postage costs, damaged goods must be directed to Ebay themselves, as once Ebay has received it, thats the end of my obligations.

I sold something beginning of month, and I believe ebay sent it to Australia. The buyer received it and it was damaged as all the packing - outside box, inner box, bubblewrap etc were soaking wet and the item inside had rusted badly.

They approached me wanting me to sort a solution before they left feedback - read into that what you will, but negative feedback cannot be left under the scheme.

I agree the parcel was ruined but obviously not by myself, so he contacted ebay and they said raise a dispute

Ebay then send me an email advising my funds are all on hold - yet I'm not involved. My only option on the form is to accept a return or agree a reimbursement - nowhere can I point out that it was beyond my control

Re: Global Shipping problems

The buyer would still need to open an eBay return, so you still have involvement here.

It's important that the buyer selects the 'Arrived damaged' reason as the reason for the return, because then it's the GSPs job to make the refund, not you.

If a buyer selects the 'doesn't match photos or description' then the seller is obliged to pay and organise for the return.

adding to the advice already given -

Checking a number of your listings, all you warn buyers about is that you have no control regarding charges.

In general a sellers obligations does not finish when the item arrives at the Global hub. A buyer does not contact eBay but still opens a case and if not as described it's the sellers total responsibility regarding rectification.
