I had a ring listed on eBay which I sold, got the label for the ring sent it in the same ring box and padded envelope that we’ve been sending them in for the past few weeks. (Had a few rings for sale). Packaged up all for panels on etc etc like normal.
get to the post office to sent it and they said we can’t send it like that so had to pay for another label to send it. Item has since arrived with the buyer I’ve tracked it. But I now won’t get my money from eBay because the eBay label will never say it’s arrived! How do I go about sorting this ? Is this something the buying can confirm or can I do something my end or is it a case of contacting eBay by email because their automated agent is useless!
any help is much appreciated

I’ve found that the easiest route to contact eBay Customer Services is via the link below where you can request a call back:

See if you can change the tracking via the More Actions dropdown menu or via View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow. That needs to be done on a desktop browser.
After that you can cancel the original label here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
Or if the buyer paid for it it will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.
Even if you cannot manage to do that the payment will be released anyway in 14 days.

So if I do nothing the money will still be released in 14 days ?
If I refund the seller using that link is that for the postage or the whole item ? Somewhat new to eBay selling although all the ring sales have been easy

Yes, money should be released in 14 days anyway, so we were told. But change the tracking if you can.
The link is just to cancel the postage if you paid for it. If the buyer paid you don't need to do anything. They get the refund automatically in 30 days.
