Formal Complaint and Request to Remove €40 Charge – System Limitation and Lack of Support

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the €40 charge applied to my account, which I consider unjustified and unacceptable under the circumstances.

I fully complied with the buyer’s request to cancel the purchase and clearly agreed to the withdrawal of the transaction. However, during the active phase of the case, the eBay user interface did not provide any functional option that allowed me to technically approve or process the cancellation, even though the buyer had already paid and the funds were still being held by eBay.

Both the buyer and I contacted eBay support multiple times requesting assistance, yet neither of us received any meaningful response while the case was active. Due to the lack of support and the limitations of the eBay UI, the buyer ultimately had no alternative but to wait until the system allowed them to open a case so the refund could be processed automatically.

I want to make the following points absolutely clear: – No actual sale was completed. – I cooperated with the buyer in good faith at all times. – The inability to finalize the cancellation was caused solely by limitations within the eBay interface. – Our message history clearly demonstrates my cooperation and intent to resolve the situation correctly.

I request that eBay reviews the full communication between the buyer and myself as evidence and immediately removes the €40 charge from my account. This fee is tied to a transaction that never materialized and failed due to system constraints and lack of timely support, not due to any wrongdoing on my part.

I expect this matter to be handled objectively and professionally, taking into account the platform’s technical limitations and the absence of customer support during the critical period.

I look forward to your prompt response and written confirmation that the charge has been removed.  I wrote it to here because Ebay gives no option for communicate with human.

This is a board where UK based ebay members give support to other UK based ebay members.

 

It is not a route to ebay support and as your account is registered in Hungary and you mention € charges, you are probably on the wrong ebay site anyway.

 

You probably need ebay.com.

As advised you are on the wrong site, you need to log out of here,  clear cache and cookies and log into www.ebay.com  ask the community there,  https://community.ebay.com/   or if you need to contact Customer Services on this matter,  again using the . com site....
