Sorry but eBay only allow 30 days of claims and payment providers 120 days.

Yes, ebay don't get involved with warranties. You're relying on the seller being honest. 😞

What even if item carries a 13 month warranty
You cannot report this to eBay as they do not offer warranties or guarantees on items, just that they are just as described on receipt. If they are not, a buyer has 30 days under eBay's 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee policy, to return the item for a full refund.
If you bought this from a Private seller you are too late to claim a refund. If you are within 120 days, you could try your payment provider for help with a refund.
If purchased from a registered UK business, who offered a guarantee and is now not upholding this, then turn to Citizens Advice for your next steps, if you wish to take this further.

Correct....... about the timeline.
eBay have a 30 day Money Back Guarantee policy, but any further faults appearing, any guarantee offered is between seller and buyer to enforce.
eBay is a selling platform not the actual seller.

eBay offer a 30 day return window.
You're buying from a seller using the eBay platform, not eBay. Any warranty offered by any seller anywhere is only ever going to be as good as your ability to enforce that warranty when required and, as you've discovered, you can't.
For items that may need a warranty you need to buy direct from the brand's online site, a reputable licensed UK business seller or the high street.
Just to add, there are a lot of fake DeWalt batteries out there. I use the 18v ones and always make sure that I'm buying from a reliable source, only because the fake ones can be dangerous too.

eBay's Buyer Protection requires you return any not as described item within 30 days of receiving it.
So does PayPal's Buyer Protection.

Yes I know! But what about buyer protection

In my humble opinion the ' Buyer Protection Fee' , if this is what you are referring to, is badly worded, badly expressed as to its purpose.
Buyers are ' protected' with eBay's 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee policy.
The Buyer Protection Fee, is a totally different matter. It covers 24/7 customer support, it's purpose also covers fraud monitoring, and to secure, encrypted payments.
