So I received an item, it was faulty, I reported it straight away to the seller. They responded and offered a reduced price, which I rejected (it was faulty). So they offered a replacement, no need to return the other. Great, except that never arrived and several months later here we are, messaging backwards and forwards. I suspect they do this to keep people on the hook so the returns period times out. My mistake, I have learnt a lesson, but is it worth reporting the seller to ebay (which does not look easy) after all this time? I can't prove they are not honest, just seems likely. This is a business seller if that makes any difference.

If this is a business seller, did the item come with any guarantee that the seller is now not upholding?
If so, you can report them to Trading Standards.
No point reporting this seller to eBay , as you have passed the timeline, 30 days, for a guaranteed refund, and any eBay protection.
Yep, lessons learned, that is, listen to no excuses and time wasting promises from a seller, but open that case for item not as described/ item Does Not Match Description or Photos within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery.
Also, never agree to any replacement, always that full refund. Any replacement could also be faulty, and that one is not protected under eBay's MBG.

The ebay money back guarantee is for 30 days from delivery, after that you are on your own with the seller.
