Fake item

Have been sold a counterfeit copy of a makita tool, it's been confirmed by makita as a copy but yet ebay are of no help and can't seem to find an issue. It seems ebay are openly letting people sell fake rubbish on there site, this surely cant be right as its illegal. I will be taking this up with trading standards, has anybody else had thus issue.

It would have helped to tell us when you bought this tool? eBay's own money back guarantee only lasts for 30 days from delivery. After that they have no interest, whatever the problem.

As for what is sold on eBay's site, don't expect buying on eBay to be like buying from the shops. In fairness to eBay, they even warn buyers in the user agreement that that they do not guarantee the quality of items sold here, that items will be safe, legal - or even exist, or that descriptions will be truthful or accurate. You accepted this when you became a registered user.

Would you have bought this from a shop that displayed this warning? Sadly many buyers never read the user agreement and have no idea of the risks of buying here. eBay is a jungle.

We don't know how you paid, or whether the seller was a UK business seller or abroad. It's hard to give further advice without any information. If you paid by credit or debit card your card issuer might still be able to help. Good luck.
