Fake account

I just sold an item in a auction, they haven't paid as yet but that's not the problem, this has happened several times and I'm starting to think these accounts are fake and when you check these accounts out they always seem to have thousands of positive feedback it just baffles me how eBay allows this to go on , I'm not saying that there isn't any numptys out there that like winning things and not paying for it.

Fake account

Sometimes buyer may be genuine, but sellers allow them to get away with not paying.

Not paying is a time waster as there is no benefit for a scammer.

Unless sellers give non payers unpaid strikes, block them and also set preferences  to block members with two or more unpaid strikes, they get away with wasting sellers time and carry on not paying,

It is up to sellers to deal with them properly.

As buyers can only have positive feedback, it means very little.

Been there done that ,blocked  accounts and reported accounts makes no difference I'm talking about accounts with 8 thousand plus feedback on less then two years all positive and nothing negative bit weird is that.

It's a policy violation to leave a negative feedback for a buyer.

If a seller does,  the buyer can ask eBay for it to be removed, thus,  only positive feedback can be seen on a buyer's account.

For non payers only cases for this opened work. Two unpaid item strikes the buyer will not be able to buy from the majority of sellers on eBay for a full 12 months.

Constant non payment strikes?  The buyer is booted off eBay for life.

Policy violation feedbacks don't work, reporting sellers won't work , this could be coming from a competitor, but cases do.
