Fake Perfumes

Seems to be so many fake perfumes being listed on ebay recently and its not rocket science to know they are fake being the UK retail price is £118 and sellers have them listed for £25 including postage but ebay are not removing even when I report the listings. Has anyone noticed this as well ?

You have no evidence that they are fakes.

Ebay can't act on one report from one other member.

If the seller makes a lot of sales and then has many returns from unhappy buyerrs who also leave negative feedback, then Ebay would take action.

Re: Fake Perfumes

eBay are not going to remove a listing just because somebody who hasn't bought the item reports it as fake, else everybody with a grudge could get a listing removed if you think about it.

Buyers are protected against their item not being as described, and if they open a return and leave appropriate feedback then this will flag up any dodgy seller.

Re: Fake Perfumes

Ok lets look at the evidence the perfume is made in England and retails for £118. These ebay sellers are based outside of England mainly in the far east and are selling this made in England perfume for £25 including postage to the UK in large quantities not just one or two bottles . The listing images are exactly the same as images from DH Gate who just happen to be selling the same perfume. In the item specifics the brand is stated as unbranded yet the title states a designer brand so why do that ? Feedback for most of these sellers has negatives claiming the perfume is fake and does not last very long at all. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know these are fake perfumes.

Re: Fake Perfumes

You don't have to convince me.

I can only answer your query based on Ebay policy.

Re: Fake Perfumes

But it seems like I need to convince ebay and when the facts are clear that these items are fake and once reported ebay takes no action what would happen if someone gets burnt from the chemicals in these items can ebay really then sit back and say nothing to do with us when they have been informed.

Re: Fake Perfumes

As far as ebay are concerned, you have no evidence these are fake,

low price may be suspicious, but not proof.

Re: Fake Perfumes

I disagree.

You are not responsible for reporting perfumes you believe are fake to Ebay.  You don't need to convince Ebay.

Genuinely, I understand the idea of a social conscience and wanting to help people, but only adults can buy on this site.

If they are happy with their purchases, they have got a low price item which is bringing them pleasure.

If they don't like what they have bought, they have the option of returning it.

Re: Fake Perfumes

Thats not the point if ebay continue to allow so many counterfeit items to be listed buyers will eventually lose trust in the platform and look to purchase products elsewhere which does not help sellers like myself . Also its illegal to sell fake goods and Im sure the rights owners of this brand would not be happy that their luxury item is being sold at 80% off retail value.

The evidence is clear as I stated in a previous message.

Maybe contact the brand then and point out to them that if they become a member of eBay's Verified Rights Owners programme (VeRO) they can request the removal of any listings featuring their product, and then eBay will immediately have to remove them.

Re: Fake Perfumes

All brands have email addresses.

Which brand is it? There may be a parent company you need to contact.
