Ebay simple delivery and refund

Hello I sent an item through ebay simple delivery that has not arrived and the buyer understandably wants a refund due to not requiring the item anymore, due to the time taking. He seems to want me to do the refund directly from my end without opening a item not received case,if I refund him this way then will i not only lose the item but the money too.I sent the item the next day after payment so I couldnt have done much more, seems abit unfair to potentially to lose money over a Evri issue.I sent this with ebay simple delivery that states it will deal with the buyer directly over delivery issues, this has not happened in my case and Ive  had to deal with lost of questions about where the item is over the last week, why has that been the case, hope someone can put my mind at ease.Thank you.

Ebay simple delivery and refund

Just send a polite message explaining eBay rules state they ( the buyer) must open a case for item not received.

That way they will be fully refunded.

Any negative feedback left claiming you did not wish to refund outside eBay contact CS , citing the buyer is wishing to be refunded outside eBay's rules and parameters.

Ebay simple delivery and refund

Don not refund him any other way but through a case.  What does the tracking actually show?

Are they still within 30 days of the item 's last estimated date for delivery?  Then explain for a refund they have to open a case for item not received.  To be honest,  I've no idea why they do not wish to do this ?

Once opened as this is a Simple Delivery transaction and if tracking has not shown delivery,  eBay will fully refund the buyer,  and you get to keep the payout.

Refund no other way!

Ebay simple delivery and refund

thanks for the reply.he is still within the 30 day delivery period. The last tracking was that it was at the Evri parcel centre on the 3rd of March, since then no updates or movement,he says he no longer needs the item.I have no idea why he is always direct messaging me rather than going through ebay channels.I just dont want to get to the point where he is sending negative feedback just because he is going round the ebay protocol and just wants me to refund him.Hes messages have gone from item not delivered to item not needed, which would have different outcomes on the refund,as surely he would have to send the item back to get the refund despite the tracking saying it has not been delivered, its all abit odd.Thank you.
