Ebay's obsession with making Private sellers into Businesses

Everything I keep reading about recent ebay changes seem to be based on "encouraging" private sellers to change to business accounts.
This is obvious with the waiting 2 days for payment and new "simple" postage options just aimed at private accounts, as business accounts are not being forced into them.
I am selling a lifetimes worth of collecting as due to health issues i will need to move to a bungalow in the near future. I AM NOT a business as all the items i sell are my own and none were originally purchased to re-sell. If I were to change to a business account, I presume I would then have to complete a tax return and to do that I would need to indicate my profits. Some of the items I am selling I have had since I was a schoolboy (I am in my early 60's now) and have no idea what they cost me, so how can I say what (if any) profit I have made???

Not every private seller is a business masquerading as a private seller. Some obviously are (selling new items and multiples of them) so why don't ebay just target them first??

No-one knows why ebay have chosen this cackhanded sledgehammer approach to the problem, when, as you say, most fake private sellers are incredibly easy to spot.   Even when reported our reports are ignored.
