Ebay- It just keeps getting better

So to follow on to the recent saga with the BPF, now any option to use your own courier or edit the way you want to send it has disappeared completely ( I use a browser not the app to list) which it was 7 days ago. It also says in the simple postage that you can choose a preferred way to send but doesn't give you an option to choose them.

I always send tracked and also insure it when the item is of high value, I always edit the postage because I am rural so I have to take into account a 20 or 50 mile round trip to the post office or drop off point to do so. If I get to the PO and the postage is less, I generally use a faster service and if that costs me then fine, I don't try to capitalise on making on the postage.

I am guessing Ebay is forcing the way we send items as they probably have something in the contract that makes the carrier responsible for any loss which in turn the BPF is just a way to make money because they are being reimbursed by the carrier.

Yesterday I encountered my first issue with a buyer who decided it was either funny to retract their bid on Friday and then bid on the item again straight away (the reason they stated in message was they didn't think it was fair because someone else had also retracted their bid) I said to them please don't bid on the item if you do not intend to purchase the item. I considered removing the item but left it running because I pretty much knew they would get outbid which they did. Sigh of relief for me! Well it was until the last minutes of the auction where they then made multiple bids and eventually ending up the winner. Less than an hour later the requested to cancel the purchase sighting they found it cheaper elsewhere. This isn't someone with zero or low feedback. I have reported the buyer because 1. they wasted 7 days it was listed for and my time. 2 They also wasted the time of the highest bidder because they had to wait to see if they would win the auction before moving on. 3. The buyer was a complete ******* I don't expect Ebay will do anything  to the the person because that is where they get their revenue from now. I was going to list the item as a buy it now but it's now a complete and utter nightmare to do.

If they put their fees up for listing, yes we would of all moaned and groaned but we would of gotten over it or worked out ways to combat it.

As I mention in another post, without sellers there are no buyers which results in no Ebay.

I wish someone or a group of people come up with a auction platform which was fair to both the seller and the buyer because Ebay is a complete and utter joke.
