EBay buyer help

I purchased an item from Japan over a month ago

I was charged £72 for delivery

The item arrived and had damage to it that was not shown in the pictures or in description

I accepted it, as didn’t want to mess About sending back
Two weeks later, I get an invoice from import tax for an extra £52

I was going to send it back, but I would not have been refunded the £52 tax

I contact eBay and they agreed. I should have a refund on the 18th of August and  would receive it within five working days.

This did not happen

So I contacted them, and I was told I will receive a refund within 24 to 48 hours

This did not happen

So I had to contact them again

I was told a manager will contact me within 24 to 48 hours

This was two days ago

I’ve just had call from eBay and I’ve just answered,  but they hung up on me straight away

I tried to call back but now  states now out of hours

I had originally left negative feedback for the seller but eBay have removed that

i do not understand why I am not protected as a buyer as they state

Can I take this to Ofcom?

To be fully protected by the Ebay Money Back Guarantee, you needed to start a return case and arrange to send the item back to the seller.

If Customer Services have made you promises they haven't kept, you will have to contact them again.

You can't raise issues with Ebay with Ofcom. They don't deal with selling sites.
