Does ebay oversell low in stock items?

Did anyone experienced that eBay has mechanisms in place that may promote my products more heavily if it notices that I am in low on stock or selling a particular item?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Does ebay oversell low in stock items?

No, can't say that I have, but on a different note you can't sell that kind of product on a private account.

A private seller is one who is just selling off their own personal items such as clothes from their wardrobe, bits from their loft/garage etc.

A Business seller is someone who buys or makes items to sell on.  They need to be registered as a business to meet the requirements of UK law. eBay will be providing HMRC with your details anyway so it's vital to keep correct accounts for your tax return. You can obviously offset more expenses as a business seller, but can't offset any at all as a private one.

To correctly register as a business seller simply go to your Personal Information in your account and to the right of Account Type, which will be showing as 'Individual'  you'll see an Edit option.

https://accountsettings.ebay.co.uk/profile

This doesn't affect your feedback profile or any current listings, it merely upgrades your account so that you're compliant with current consumer and eBay policy.

Thank you for your response, time and effort, but I didn’t ask for a copy of eBay’s policy or a discussion about whether I should be a private or business seller. Being overzealous is fine, but you should stick or focus to your own business.

I was hoping for a more specific answer to my original question. I’m asking about how eBay handles product visibility with low stock, and whether it triggers increased promotion.

I’m not looking for a general explanation of eBay’s policies or the difference between private and business sellers.

If anyone has practical experience or knowledge on this particular issue, I would greatly appreciate your help, otherwise, thank you, but I don't need any lecturing..

Then you need to ask on the main discussion boards but you may not find any properly registered business sellers willing to help you.

I hope you have adequate insurance for those products.

Does ebay oversell low in stock items?

indeed OP is breaking EU law by stating on their listings -

Registered as a private seller. Consumer protection regulations resulting from EU consumer law are therefore not applicable. eBay buyer protection still applies to most purchases.
