I hope that someone out there will help me get my money back for a Tag Heuer watch I bought recently. The item was described as working perfectly so I bided and won the auction. The problem started when I inspected the crown, which was described as stiff on the listing, and yes it was. I took it immediately to my local jeweller for inspection. They reported that the crown wheel was broken due to impact damage and the repair would cost £350. I obtained a pdf copy of the estimate and a photograph. Meanwhile, I asked the seller what he knew about this and he basically said "it was working fine when it left his premises" and wouldn't agree to paying the repair charge. I then tried to raise a return which was immediately declined due to no returns for this item. Trouble is, I like the watch but I feel that the seller is not telling me the full story. He also takes days to answer my requests and now I feel "lost" with a watch that will cost me a lot more than I budgeted. If someone could send me a link to ask e-bay step in or raise a case, that would be greatly appreciated. The watch is definitely worth repairing. I just need someone to guide me on the right path. Many thanks in advance for any help

It sounds like you used a "change of mind" reason for the return. Sellers cannot refuse "not as described" returns.
Once closed a return cannot usually be reopened but on rare occasions ebay have been known to do that just always worth asking. You can contact ebay by requesting a callback on here:

You can only request a refund after return of the item. eBay cannot enforce partial refunds or payment towards repair.
If they cannot help contact your payment provider about getting a refund.

Returns can only be declined if you leave it too long - you have 30 days from receipt to start a return - or you choose a 'change of mind' reason.
Ebay will only step in to an open return case which you do not have.
If the item was mis-described and you want to return it for a refund, you will need to contact your payment provider. There is not any way, through Ebay or your payment provider, to request money from the seller for repairs, expenses etc.

Unfortunately paying with ebay funds means you lose the extra protection if using other payment source, e.g bank card or PayPal.
But ebay don't tell you that.

Yes, see if the seller is willing to offer a partial refund. But they don't have to if it's more than 30 days. Good luck.
