Custom postage versus Simple Delivery

I am a Private seller. Up until ebay imposed the Simple Delivery method, I was auctioning 35mm colour slides of aircraft. I charged UK winners £1 for P&P but I am now forced to use Simple Delivery, my buyers have to pay up to £2.90 for a small thin envelope. Needless to say, nobody is buying! There is a list on ebay of items that can still be eligible for what they call CUSTOM POSTAGE. One of them is photographs (under the ART category) but despite trying several times I can not get the CUSTOM POSTAGE option to appear, it is always Simple Delivery. I was advised to use Collectables-Transportation-Aeronautica-Military-Photos/Prints but that still comes up as the unwanted Simple Delivery. Any ideas? Thanks.

Custom postage versus Simple Delivery

It's frustrating,  and you are not alone,  many are finding they are just not getting the option for Custom Postage,  for items clearly exempt from Simple Delivery.

A member has found a workaround.

From the link below, bringing you to a previous thread,  there Go to Solution and Rick's answer solves the oversize issue, but should work equally well for light items.

Give it a go, hopefully it will work for you,  until the issue is solved for everyone.
