I called ebay today at 3:30pm I spoke to an agent to try and get information on an ongoing issue. The Agent was rude and patronizing, telling me he has been on the call 1 hour, when it was only 24 minutes, as I had to tell him the issue I was calling about. He then proceeded to call my situation a story. I then asked him for his name he refused, I then asked for a call reference number and he advised he does not have to give me one and refused, when previous agents have provided this and I know i can request this. 

I then tried to call back to speak to someone else but it appears I have been blocked, as it keeps saying its out of ours now. Who can I speak to or how do I escalate this as its unacceptable?

If you did call ebay (rather than they called you back), you might have got through to a spoof ebay site.

 

Ebay do not have a current phone number to call, Google is not a reliable source for a number.

The number I used, was the previous number I have called them on multiple times, they were able to verify the item and information that I did not provide them so was definitely eBay themselves.

Thank you so much, the call back has worked and I have been able to get the reference number from them for the call earlier today. The agent kindly escalated this internally for me as well.

It was more in regard to a dispute with the seller rather than a question directly.
