I recently purchased a cordless palm router from an ebay seller. Ebay subsequently sent me a Product Safety notification advising that the router could pose a serious fire risk. I contacted the seller and was advised that the relevant compliance paperwork had subsequently been sent to Ebay. How can I confirm that this is correct before I start using the router?

If you are within the 30 day money back guarantee, the safest thing for you to do, would be open a not as described case, seller has to provide a return label, and on return refund in full.
I have never heard of ebay wanting compliance papers, as far as they are concerned they are advised of a potential hazard which they pass on, and that is all they are required to do.
