Collected item still shows as "Awaiting Dispatch"

About 3 weeks ago a buyer messaged me wishing to collect in person. I advised her to pay through eBay and select the "Collect in Person" option. She did this, then informed me that she was local and would collect the same evening.

Unfortunately the buyer arrived at my home before I returned from a hospital appointment. My daughter answered the door and handed the item over but of course was unaware of the need to get the collection code. I have messaged the buyer several times asking for the code but had no response.

I resigned myself to the inevitable 14 day wait for the funds to be released and that has now happened. However the item still shows in my orders as "Awaiting Dispatch" and I can find no way to change this. I am concerned that this may affect my seller rating.

You cannot mark this item as collected without this code beign registered.

The notifications  will soon stop.

The danger only lies ,  if the buyer wishes to open a case for item not received,  and you'll have no proof that it was collected.

Never,  in future,   let a collection item go,  without first registering that collection code.
