Click and collect no barcode or text message

I have used click and collect for many years to order various items, due to being at work during the day. It used to work perfectly when the option to deliver to argos was available. A text message would come to my phone when the parcel had arrived and a barcode would be sent to my ebay messages. Then suddenly the option to deliver to Argos disappeared. Instead it was small local shops. Since this change every time I have ordered anything no barcode or text message have been sent. In fact I missed 2 packages completely as I thought they hadn't been delivered. I now have to guess when the order might have arrived a d ask at the shop. Shop keepers still ask for a barcode but I am never able to provide it as it isn't sent! Advice would be much appreciated.

Obviously a lot of Argus stores no longer want the aggravation caused, and no longer are part of the scheme.

Many small shops probably take on the task sithout properly trained part time staff, which is why it does not work well.  

Far better to have delivered to a friend or neighbour.
