Change tracking number?

I sent an item that I sold but due to an issue, I didnt use the tracking number that ebay generated for the label. I have messaged the buyer the correct tracking number and the item has been delivered an signed for but  because its a different tracking number that ebay generated, its still only showing as dispatched and will never show as delivered. Ebay wont allow me to edit/change the tracking number and are holding the money until its showing as delivered. 

I have left positive feedback for the buyer since they paid quickly but havent replied to my message with the correct tracking number and havent left me feedback or messaged me at all

How will I get the money now or how long will ebay hold it if the delivery never shows delivered because of the incorrect tracking number

The normal time frame for payment for 'untracked' postage is 14 days.

You cannot now add any new tracking,   eBay suggest sending the buyer a message with those tracking details.  If a case is opened later for item not received,   you will be able to add those tracking details.

Your payopuit for the untracked item will be held for a minimum of 14 days.

A refund is sent to whoever paid for the SD label:

• If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

• If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
