Can't increae maximum bid

Mine is the highest bid on an item. I've tried to increase my maximum bid. I place the bid, I click on review and end up with an empty window and my higher bid doesn't show.

I've tried to do this several times. I also can not open messages vendors have sent me,

If you are already the highest bidder increasing your bid will not increase the price or the bid shown.

Only if there is another bidder will your bid increase. You cannot bid against yourself, if you could you would be paying more than necessary.
