Hi community. I have never used this before so I am interested to see how this goes and appreciate any help and advice in advance.
Here is my issue. Last night I tried to make a purchase with a card I use all the time and rarely have any issues. Just for a bit of background info although it's not relevant I run a sterile bank account with the card so it is always at a zero balance unless I need to use the card to make a purchase or pay a bill. That way if my card is compromised nobody can take any money without my authorisation. Anyway I tried to pay and eBay asked for my CV code which I entered correctly whilst looking right at the card so I know it was 109% correct. However eBay kept rejecting the code saying it was incorrect. The purchase I was attempting to make was for about £35 and only minutes before I had made a purchase for £109 with no issues or problems. In the end I knew the correct code would not work so I switched to Google pay and it used exactly the same card and made the purchase with no issues at all.
I contacted the bank today (NatWest) and they can see the rejected payments but said the request for the CV code didn't reach them at all and the issue is with eBay. So can anybody help or advise what is going on or how I go about addressing this issue please?
I would also like to add that although my account looks new I am a long term eBay useful if well over 15 years. Mainly as a buyer (my original account was obliterated by an issue with phone number verification which I am sure a lot of people are familiar with). So I am fairly experienced with paying for items and keeping my money and card details safe and selecting reputable sellers etc etc.
I would very much appreciate any help any one can offer.
