CUTOMER SUPPORT

sold a cd player, its over 23 years old,my discription says has a few marks but fully works please ask questions befor buying as i do not accept retuns or partial funds, buyer claims it arrived dammaged in stransit and started a return so i asked three times whats dammaged and get no answer, buyer says   it has a few marks as i listed, e bay dont care and said they can start a return even when the buyer states in a message they never even plugged it in and no reply as to what dammage,an e bay rep said even items listed as spares or repairs/parts can be sent back as retuns item not working and the seller has no choice but to accept the retun so WHATS THE POINT IN SELLING ON E BAY NOW

Re: CUTOMER SUPPORT

I'm only quoting eBay's policy if a buyer opens a case for item not as described / arrived damaged.  These cases when opened as I explained , are all automated,  no human contact and if not dealt with within the timescales described the buyer can escalate and eBay can force the refund.

A buyer doesn't have to communicate with a seller as to what the exact issue is after opening a case.

I'm not saying this is fair,  or right,  but those are the rules of eBay's MBG.  There is a right to appeal , some peeps are successful , it's not easy but always worth a shot.

Always block troublemakers from returning to you sales,  too.

Re: CUTOMER SUPPORT

If a case  for item not as described is opened,  it's all automatic, no point challenging it at that point with no human contact.

You need to accept it within 3 days,  pay for that fully tracked return postage if you want your item back first,  do not refund until it's back with you,  you then have 48 hours to fully refund.

Stick within those timelines,  and your seller performance is not affected.

Then,  if you wish , you can appeal the decision for the refund.  Link below explains the process.

I won't lie,  it's not easy,  as eBay do not see the item in question so not easy to judge who is telling the truth, and they do usually,  believe the buyer.

Re: CUTOMER SUPPORT

Buyer put return as arrived dammaged, not item not as described,i asked four times what dammage but just got answered it has a few marks,my listing says has a few marks but fully works ask questions befor buying, all the buyer asked was if he could have it £30.00 cheaper so i agreed, the buyer also states they never even tried it,all this is written in messages so even if e bay dont see the item how can they let a buyer get away with this they have all the messages written from me and buyer.

Re: CUTOMER SUPPORT

Not as described is eBay's wording also for item arrived damaged.

eBay do not interfere with partial refunds,  these are to be discussed and agreed to,  by both seller and buyer.  If you agreed to offering £30 as a partial refund,  this then ends the transaction, buyer keeps the item and the partial refund.

The only way to appeal if you think the buyer is abusing eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy is not to agree to a partial refund, then if the buyer opens a case for a full refund, as I described above,  it's all automated, you accept refund only when the item is back, and then you appeal.

It's not easy I agree to appeal and win,  eBay do not see the item and do tend to believe a buyer' version.  However,  always worth appealing after a case, as the buyer may have ' form' doing this several times for refunds, this would help your case for appeal.

Re: CUTOMER SUPPORT

Unless you're willing to decline the return and let eBay make a decision (which will likely be that the buyer can keep the item and get a full refund), you won't be able to appeal their decision.

If you have eBay messages from the buyer, all you can do is to report the buyer for abusing eBay's Money Back Guarantee here:

Re: CUTOMER SUPPORT

my item the cd player works so how can a buyer say arrived dammaged then not tell you what dammaged after asking 4 times, the buyer said arrived dammaged reason for return but tis not it fully works,i would understand if the buyer said it a few more marks on than he wanted but if my listing says has a few marks on ask questions befor buying and i had no messages from buyer ,the buyer just changed their mind,i thought e bay had an arrived dammaged broken section for retuns .item not as described means your description is all wrong ie you say it's blue but send a yellow or list it as solid gold  but you send a silver one ect broken in transit is broken in transite and if my cd player broken in transit i would expect a return so i could claim from parcel service, this seller just changed his mind and miss used the return to suite him.
