Buying ebay.uk item shipped to eu VAT calculation question

I am a little confused with regards to VAT. I am buying from UK seller and item shipping to EU.

Item bought through "make an offer". I read that VAT (presumable UK @ 20%) included in price. Lets say item is 70 gbp, that would make VAT free price about 58.34 gbp, yet I am being charged about 27% VAT of 18.87 gbp based on the full 70gbp (which includes VAT) ? Shouldn't I be paying VAT on the non-VAT inclusive price of 58.34 gbp ?

Did i misunderstand something ? why am I paying VAT on VAT ? Or do the offers not include UK VAT like the listings are supposed to ?

You pay the VAT rate for Your own country, not the sellers.

Import VAT is added to the item price, it's not included in it.

Your import VAT rate in Finland is 25.5%.

Thanks for this. So NO kind of VAT is ever included in price displayed on ebay.uk ? It's always added to item price including sales within UK ?

I guess to ask another way, if I am shopping on ebay.uk from finland, and i see price as 70 gbp, do UK  buyers see 84 gbp (70 + 20% VAT) ? Trying to get clarity as ebay states: "Value Added Tax (VAT) generally applies to purchases by UK consumers, and prices on eBay.co.uk are shown inclusive of VAT." So the system will display different prices based on where you are shopping from ?

I think you're getting mixed up with import VAT and the domestic VAT details on the guidance page that you're looking at "Value Added Tax (VAT) generally applies to purchases by UK consumers, and prices on eBay.co.uk are shown inclusive of VAT." 

You'll be charged import VAT at your country's VAT rate on top of the Buy It Now price, the offer price, or the final auction sold price.
