Buyer wants to see items first

A buyer (is interested in the kitchen cabinets I’m selling and the couple want to see them first. Is this normal ?

I don’t feel comfortable having strangers come to my house without buying them.

thanks

Nope,  this is against the rules.

Inform your buyer eBay rules state,   the item has to be purchased first , and paid for through eBay checkout,  no cash on collection now,  and only then can contact details and times for collection ( viewing) be exchanged and arranged.

If on viewing the buyer does not wish to buy,  you then cancel the order citing Buyer Requests to Cancel, they are fully refunded,  and your seller performance is not affected.

One tip,  when they do come to collect, remind them they Must bring with them the 6 digit collection code.  Explain without this code you cannot release the item.  It is your only proof of collection, to be scanned or the numbers manually entered.

Everything that tressygirl has said is correct, or course, but it does now mean that the buyer is required to pay the whole price upfront to eBay before you are even allowed to give them your address for collection.

It's a bad deal for buyers. If they don't like the units when they see them they have to hope that you will agree a cancellation, and even then it may take up to a month before their payment is returned, depending upon how they paid. Some sellers may take umbrage at a buyer wanting to cancel (sales are supposed to be binding) and if they refuse it can get confrontational - and potentially very complicated.

My advice would be to explain to your interested buyer that you will be willing to agree a cancellation if it isn't what they wanted. Assuming, of course, that you are!
