Buyer wants more money off

Hi 👋

I sold a table,  it was listed for £150

The buyer contacted me and said what would I accept,  I said £130.

It was collection only item,  he came to my home inspected the item  i pointed out some marks that where hidden underneath the drawer and that was why I would accept a lower price. He was happy with the table popped it in his car, paid via the qr code at 1.33pm

The he messaged 8 hours later when he arrived home saying it marked on a corner of the base, and a small mark on the side, said it was too far for him to come back and return and wants more money of.

He inspected it thoroughly.

I'm at a loss, if it wasn't what he wanted then why buy it and pay and take it home.

There were photos on Ebay. I also sent photos on the day so he knew what it was like and he inspected it!

I now have an open case for the very first time.

I listed collection only so a buyer could view.

I'd like Ebay to step in. But there's no option for them to do that has it's not been 3 days maybe but he keeps sending messages.  He's 1 and a have hours drive away he claims.

Any advice would be appreciated 👏  thank you

Don't be in a hurry to get ebay involved, they tend to side with the buyer in this sort of situation.    You would be responsible for getting it back if it came down to a full refund so its best for you to try and negotiate a small partial refund.

As the buyer has opened a case, your choices are limited.

You can accept the return, go and get the table back and refund the buyer in full, or you can offer them a partial refund.

It doesn't matter that they came and looked at the table, they still have access to the Ebay Money Back Guarantee and 30 days to complain that not all the faults were mentioned in the description.
