Buyer not collected

Hi all,

Posted an item last weekend and ready for collection 16th June. Buyer still hasn't collected and hasn't responded to messages.

What happens to my funds and how long do I have to wait?

Thanks in advance.

Buyer not collected

Thank you so much for this.

My experience as a buyer also on eBay is that you are sent constant reminders about collection. I wasn't sure if the 7 day rule applied to Post Office collection or not.

I really appreciate your help. So will eBay release funds to me at end point?

I'm confused as to the payment system as I haven't got anything yet. I think there's mention of the 28th June in my account.

Send the buyer one last message to say you need to hear within 24 hours for a date and time for collection or you deem the item to be unwanted,  and will be cancelling the order which will fully refund them.

If you do not hear,  click on the item ,go top left click on View order details,  far right from More Actions select Cancel order citing the reason....  Buyer requests to cancel,  this refunds the buyer if they've paid, and your seller performance is not affected.

Block them too from returning and messing you about again.

Thanks for this. They've sent a message saying they've been busy at work and will "try" and pick up today. A bit vague!

Also how will I get my item back as my details are not on the parcel?

Sorry I missed the first part of your post saying you posted the item and just skipped to the collection part thinking the item was to be collected from your home!  My bad for reading too quickly !

If the item was a click and collect listed item,  and sent to a collection point the store will only keep the item for 7 days after notifying the buyer it's in store.  They then have the choice of giving the item to charity,  sending it back to you ( Always put your return address on the back of all items!)  they won't do this now with no return address,  or even destroy it.

However, your tracking when entered,  should the buyer open a case for item not received , will show it reached its destination and the case will close in your favour,  no need to refund.

Hehe, no worries at all. It's lovely you were so keen to help.

So, I've been selling on eBay years. This is the first time I've sold and gone to shop to print label. Yes, I made massive error not putting my return address. I didn't get any notification from eBay to say my item had sold, so I rushed out to post the next day.

When I've looked back on the order label, the buyer has had it sent to their local post office.

So how long do they get to pick up?

Do I definitely get paid if the buyer hasn't collected?

Presumably they're at fault here.

Thanks again

The rules for Click & Collect are they hold the items for 7 days,  they may hold it longer if they wish, but are not obliged to.  Your buyer may be lucky if they go today the item may still be there.

If the item isn't there when your buyer goes to collect,  and notifies you of this,  send them a polite message that unfortunately they did not abide by C & C rules, and their collection point did not have to hold the item for more than those 7 days.

If they then open a case for item not received,  enter the tracking number into the case details,  it should show delivery as they have notified the buyer they have the item,  and close the case in your favour no need to refund.
