Buyer has selected royal mail large letter,2nd class.The item is too wide for this

The item is too wide.

How do I rectify so that I can get the correct QR code?

Do I need to notify the buyer.

I charged the correct amount to cover a small parcel so not sure where I went wrong.

Assuming you used ebay's Simple Delivery you cannot change the postage label. You'd have to cancel the transaction and relist with the correct postage.  

If you want to opt out of SD you do that during the listing process.    If the Custom Postage option is there select that.   If not click on the postage options icon on the right of the postage section and remove details of parcel weight and dimensions.  Then you can add what postage you want.

I chose royal mail second class,thinking parcel,however,letter has been chosen automatically.
Am I able to just post it independently?
I haven't printed the label
Cancelling seems a bit drastic.

The label will have been paid for and in the system now.   You can buy your own but you'd be paying for it yourself.   Also you'd have to contact ebay to get the tracking changed otherwise you have to wait 14 days for the money to be released.   You can contact ebay using callback on here:
