Buyer claims no collection code received

Hiya, 

I sold something on eBay via collect in person. The buyer mentioned upon arrival that he hadn’t received a QR code or collection code and couldn’t log in to his eBay account because his password and other details were saved on another device at home. He assured me he would send me the code once he got home, but it’s now been three days, and I’m unsure how to mark the item as received without the code. I’m also worried the buyer might claim the item wasn’t received. Anyone here who could help me with this issue?

Yep,  the buyer could certainly open a case for item not received.  You cannot mark and confirm the item was collected without this code.

 

Without the code your payout could be held for 21 days before release.

 

Personally,  I would never hand over a collection item without this code,  and send the buyer a polite reminder to bring it with them on collection to be able to receive their item.

I assume it was the plant,

luckily not the sort of item than someone would scam you for.

So hopefully won't be an issue.
