Buyer asked for address change. I changed the address for them (at the time not knowing that I would loose seller protection). I dispatched the parcel to the new address. The buyer kept complaining that they had not recieved the parcel. I checked the tracking and even though the delivery was delayed a bit, it shows that delivery was attempted by courier at buyers address twice (with a card left). Buyer claims they recieved nothing, they claimed they called customer suport at the courier to rearrange delivery, but then says they've still not recieved anything.
I just realised, based of other posts the address change may be a way of scamming me, however as I've already sent the parcel to the different address, I am not sure what the best thing is for me to do now? No dispute has been opened yet, is it best for me to just refund the parcel or wait to see what the buyer says? It's been around 2 weeks since I sent the parcel.
(I also double checked the person who asked for address change is same as the person who brought it)

Do not refund yet, and this also has to be done with a case the buyer opens.
So wait until the buyer opens a case, but you will lose and have to refund as you rightly have found out, changing the address and not posting to the one eBay provided for you on the delivery details for the order, voids your seller protection.
If attempted delivery was made, there's hope they'll try again, or it can be at the sorting office awaiting collection, if this was a Royal Mail delivery.

Only refund through a not received case, do not make it easy by refunding when you do not have to. With luck he may run out of time.

Many thanks, I will just wait then and see what happens.
So if I understand correctly, I will not do anything, unless the buyer opens a case for a refund, in which case I will refund (as seller protection is void). If nothing happens for 30 days since item was sold, the buyer won't be able to dispute the case anymore?
Luckily it was just a very old laptop, which was not worth too much. I've learnt a lesson now from it.
